Description
Vertical, narrow wall light for "Linestra" linear lamps. It comes from the Italian design workshop and is ideal for hallways and stairwells, among other places.
The "Linestra" light source
Linear lamps, also known as tube lamps or rod incandescent lamps with an S14 base ("Linestra" is actually a product name used by the manufacturer Osram), were popular until around 2010 in bathrooms, kitchens, and as light strips in cabinets, as well as increasingly for accent lighting in living rooms. Due to their relatively large surface area, they provide diffused, glare-free light. Unlike fluorescent lamps, their light is warm and flicker-free, and their design means they have no switch-on delay.
Contrary to their appearance, they are not fluorescent tubes, but always incandescent lamps (with the corresponding energy efficiency class: "E"). There are now more efficient LED replacements for these bases, e.g., LEDinestra from Osram.
The luminaire or base is available in various finishes:
- Natural brass (standard, also available with matt protective coating on request)
- Brownish patinated brass (on request at extra charge)
- Anthracite patinated brass (on request at extra charge)
