The unique six-light Babylon 6 chandelier impresses with its expressive design of clean geometric forms and precise angles. With a diameter of approximately 75 cm, this large chandelier becomes a striking lighting object that creates a distinctive statement in both contemporary and classic interiors.
The characteristic design of the Babylon 6 is defined by a delicate branching structure of precisely crafted brass arms. Each arm terminates in a bowl-shaped reflector that elegantly frames the deliberately exposed light source.
This construction is complemented by a second level of brass arms, each ending in spheres made from high-quality natural marble. These refined marble details harmoniously enhance the geometric language of the luminaire. The balanced arrangement of the elements creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow while giving the chandelier an extraordinary sense of depth and spatial presence.
The natural marble makes every chandelier a unique piece. The individual veining, colour variations, and texture of the stone emphasise the exclusivity of each version and give it a distinctive character.
The Babylon 6 is ideally suited as a statement chandelier for living rooms, dining areas, entrance halls, hallways, and sophisticated hospitality or commercial interiors. Since 2014, this lighting manufacturer has caused a sensation not only in its home country but also among US designers with its timeless and unusual designs. The two young designers and founders of the company, Dominique Sente from Belgium and Rudi Nijssen from the Netherlands, say that they create "forms influenced by our passion, which seek and find a balance between technical and aesthetic solutions". Handmade in Europe, the lamps are made of solid brass. The glass spheres are made of very high-quality hand-blown borosilicate glass, thin and light like soap bubbles, but resistant and strong like laboratory glass. This extraordinary glass, also called Jena glass in this country, ensures both a stylish presence in a classically modern ambience and pleasant room lighting. Most of the swing lighting is compatible with dimmers and comes with extension rods so that it can be adapted to different room heights. On request, all Schwung lights can be made UL-listed 110–130 V.
