Description
The unique original design of this "Duikelaar" (Diver) table lamp from the 1930s was created by the Dutch company Daalderop.
The special feature of the design is a weighted ball that rests loosely on a metal base ring (with a rubber edge), allowing the lamp to be moved into any desired position.
There is a push button on the ball that allows you to easily switch the lamp on and off. The lamp is equipped with a black textile cable with a Bakelite plug.

About the manufacturer
From the design-savvy Netherlands, these brass lamps come in the style of early Art Déco (in French short for art décoratif = decorative art). Their timeless designs make these luminaires an excellent addition to both historical and modern surroundings. Clear, puristic designs such as stepped glasses and glass holders are their main characteristics – with all the attention to detail; Shapes that also show in time-typical architecture of the 1920s and 1930s, such as the Chrysler Building in New York. These designs reinterpret the language and the emergence of geometrical-abstract painting (Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, etc.) in architecture and design of the 1920s.
All lights by Collectie Art Déco are made of brass with different surfaces and usually feature hand-blown, overlaid (two-ply) opal glass or frosted glass with decor cutting. The former provide glare-free lighting with maximum light transmission – a standard in Dutch functionalism.
