About the manufacturer

This company from Småland in the south of Sweden has been around for over 65 years. Today, it produces timeless, consistently modern lamp designs, and at the same time creates carefully revised classic, functional luminaires. The lamps are still manufactured in extremely robust craftsmanship and high quality, commonly associated with Swedish products.

Initially, iron and kerosene lamps were produced for industrial purposes in workshops and in the 1950s they began being used as residential lighting fixtures. Many lighting products have been produced over the years for today's furniture giant, IKEA. However, in the middle of the eighties the cooperation came to a close: the price policy of the expanding furniture discounter and the traditional quality consciousness of the luminaire manufacturer could no longer be reconciled. A few years later, Örsjö Belysning's determination turned out to be a huge success story: through the cooperation with well-known Scandinavian designers, Västervik Belysning was able to revive a somewhat old-fashioned product range and win a number of design prizes.
